‘American Idol’ notes: Jessica Sanchez, Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert

It has been quite a while since we have used Jessica Sanchez to lead off an edition of “American Idol” notes, so what better time is there than the present?

Ultimately, we have a feeling that we are going to be hearing quite a bit from the season 11 star pretty soon when her new single drops, and when that time comes, take some solace in the fact that she is going to have plenty of opportunities to promote it on the flagship show. In a new post on his Twitter account, Nigel Lythgoe all but confirmed that we will be seeing Sanchez stop by “American Idol” for a performance at some point before season 12 comes to a close in May.

As for when we will for sure know some more about her upcoming solo album, the short answer here is Valentine’s Day, given that is when she will be performing a solo concert in Manila with Colton Dixon as an opening act. (Be sure to check out our recent exclusive interview with Colton here!)

Speaking of concerts… – Did you know that Adam Lambert is the first former “american Idol” contestant to headline a solo concert in China? Well, it’s true! The singer has been in the country before, but he will be specifically performing at Shanghai’s Mercedes-Benz Arena on March 3, two days before he will be heading to a separate show in Hong Kong.

We don’t know much else about the show just yet, but this is a pretty incredible honor to have such a devoted fanbase in a place that is still difficult for most artists to find a following in.
