‘Glee’ season 4 song spoilers: Dianna Agron, Lea Michele, Naya Rivera reunite
Fans of Dianna Agron have quite a few reasons to celebrate on Thursday night’s new “Glee” season 4 episode: after all, Quinn Fabray is going to be back! Not only that, but we are going to see her interact for the first time all season long with her former rival-turned friend Rachel Berry.
Quinn is finally going to make good on that train ticket to New York City, and one of the primary reasons why may be because Santana (Naya Rivera) is also going to be in town visiting Lea Michele and Chris Colfer’s character. Since everyone is back in one place, why not have them all engage in a new musical performance? All of the ladies are going to team up for a cover of the Sara Bareilles hit “Love Song,” which is a little bit of an interesting choice considering that all three are seemingly in very different places in their romantic lives.
If we are looking to praise “Glee” for originality, we certainly are not going to be doing it here (just as we are not going to be doing it for that cover of “Baby Got Back” that was really just Jonathan Coulton’s version). This is basically a straight-up remake of the original track, with Rachel, Quinn, and Santana all each handling some of their vocals. The real appeal here comes in just hearing the three ladies sing together, though it in no way measures up to the “Pretty / Unpretty” mash-up with Quinn and Rachel that is widely considered to be one of the best performances in the history of the show.
