‘Homeland’ season 3: Claire Danes, Damian Lewis speak out at SAG Awards
While it is pretty much a given that “Homeland” is going to walk about with some trophies at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night, what was especially nice was getting the opportunity to see both Claire Danes and Damian Lewis get a little bit of screen time away from it … even though neither party is really willing to say much when it comes to what is coming up on the show’s third season.
Claire Danes is currently enjoying being a new mom to her son Cyrus, and she should have a few more months away before returning to her job in May to start up filming again. While on the red carpet Sunday night, she told Giuliana Rancic of E! just how she is enjoying having some time at home with the child:
“He’s getting fat. It’s very exciting. All the time on the boob is starting to result in growth. He’s getting rolls. He’s starting to smile. He kind of knows that I exist. That’s reassuring!”
Meanwhile, Lewis took advantage of an opportunity during the actual show on Sunday night to joke about playing a role like Nicholas Brody, as he wondered out loud while serving as a presenter as to what it must be like being on a show that made people laugh rather than one that just made people tense all of the time. We know that Lewis will be back in some capacity on season 3, though at the moment the big question is just how large of a role Brody will have.
