‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4, episode 12 preview: Can anyone kill Kol?

Steven R. McQueenThese Originals just can’t get along. Klaus and Rebekah are not only on separate pages as you may know already, but then you can also throw Kol into the mix and you have a complete and total mess. Klaus knows that so long as his brother is running around free, he’s going to have a hard time trying to get what he wants in the cure. However, how do you stop a man who is so powerful?

In the preview for next week’s new episode “A View to a Kill,” Elena is actualyl leading a campaign to try and have Jeremy kill the character … even though she should remember quite well just what happens if you are to kill a member of this family. It’s running an enormous risk that much of the Kol bloodline will be destroyed, and then all of the remaining vampires will have to be descendants of either Klaus, Elijah (who will return for the April 25 episode doubling as the backdoor pilot for “The Originals”), or Rebekah.

While the latter is not really a part of this promo at all, we are curious to see what will happen with her and Stefan. Just over the span of the past two weeks, the two have picked up quite a fanbase as a romantic pairing. It’s interesting to see just how he reacts to having someone new in his life other than Elena, and how that makes him change as a person who is looking out much more for himself than someone else.

Let’s just hope that the Kol issue is resolved soon, and these characters get a little bit closer to finding the cure; after all, it is going to be pretty depressing if this storyline, which has been paced pretty well thus far, suddenly starts to drag out.

What do you think is going to happen to Kol moving forward? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below, and you can read our review for yesterday’s “Vampire Diaries” episode here.
