‘The Walking Dead’ season 3 spoilers: Will Andrea and Michonne reconcile?

The Walking DeadAfter getting left behind at Herschel’s farm at the end of season 2 of “The Walking Dead”, Andrea was saved by Michonne and the two became friends – well at least as much of a friend as you can be with Michonne.  The two spend 9 months on the road together alone before being brought to Woodbury where they had a very strong difference of opinion about the Governor.  Michonne felt that there was something really wrong with him and wanted to get out of Woodbury faster then you can say “zombie”, whereas Andrea was not only tired of running and wanted to stay in Woodbury, but she also was feeling a strong connection to the Governor, which quickly turned romantic.

When Michonne returned to Woodbury to seek revenge against the Governor for sending men out to kill her, Andrea discovered the truth about the man that she has been involved with and just how disturbed he really was as she saw his creepy man cave full of zombie heads for the first time. So can Michonne forgive Andrea for siding with the man that tried to have her killed or is their friendship over for good?  Danai Gurira (who plays Michonne on the show) tells TV Guide that their relationship will be strained moving forward and that she will definitely be siding with Rick and his group in this war.  She said:

“Their relationship is definitely in a crisis.  Michonne realizes that she’s lost that person she had, really lost her this time. She sees that these (Rick) are good people.  Now the battle is against herself to get to a point where she can be vulnerable with them and be willing to be open.”

We have seen how hard it is for Michonne to open up to people – she barely opened up to Andrea and they were alone together on the road for months, and now that she feels betrayed by Andrea we suspect that her internal struggle to open up to Rick’s group is going to be made even harder.  As much as we love seeing a hard headed Michonne, we would love to see a bit more of a vulnerable side and really become a part of Rick’s group.

“The Walking Dead” season 3 returns to AMC on February 10th, so we still have a bit of a wait, but until then be sure to check back for spoilers and news on the show.
