‘The Walking Dead’ season 3 spoilers: Will more major cast members die?

The Walking Dead season 3On a series like “The Walking Dead” it’s natural to have some causalities, but with the war between the Governor and Rick on the way we can definitely expect the body count to rise.

We have already lost Lori Grimes (Sarah Wayne Callies) and T-Dog (IronE Singleton) from Rick’s group of survivors this season, but VFX designer Greg Nicotero tells the Hollywood Reporter that the death toll hasn’t come to an end yet and the target may land on some of the main cast members.  He said: “We’ve established a certain scenario on our show where nobody is safe — and certainly in the back-half of our season, it doesn’t get easy for anybody. We have the whole Woodbury community with the Governor and our principal cast. We’ll probably end our season minus a castmember or two.”

With the show building towards a face off between the Governor and Rick, things are bound to get messy as the Governor tries to exact his revenge and Rick fights to get Daryl back and keep the group safe.  What’s interesting about this war is that the fights won’t only take place at the prison as one might suspect.  Nicotero says that the fight will move from location to location making the playing field even for both sides.  He said: “[The fight] moves around a lot.  It’s very possible there might be another attack on Woodbury. The beauty is you’re not confined to one location, even though we spend a lot of our season at Woodbury or the prison.”

As for Andrea, the wild card in this war, Nicotero notes that even though she is romantically involved with the Governor, her eyes will be wide open to the kind of man he really is and her head is “exploding”.  Will she do the right thing and ditch the zero and go with the hero?  Nicotero said: “Andrea has a really good sense of character, and she loves Rick’s group. She doesn’t know they’re at the prison, so she’s got a lot of catching up to do. But I can guarantee you that what she does, her heart is in the right place.”

The second half of “The Walking Dead” season 3 will return to AMC in February 10th, but until then take a look at the promo for the next new episode below called “The Suicide King” and tell us how you think it’s all going to end.
