As you saw during last week’s “Grey’s Anatomy” season 9 episode, Seattle Grace is not exactly in a good position at the moment. As a matter of fact, it is on the verge of closing its doors for good following the revelation that insurance is not going to cover the $60 million the hospital owes to the survivors of the plane crash courtesy of their lawsuit.
So is there any way that this place can stay afloat? Well, we do not know at the moment just how it will happen, but based on what we are hearing now, expect to see someone in Contance Zimmer play an integral role in trying to get Seattle Grace on its feet. We don’t know much about her role just yet, at least save for what the actress is saying now in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter:
“I’m definitely not received very well because I’m coming in to pretty much reshape the hospital and I’m cutting a lot of things and being very harsh about the way things are run … I don’t think they really like me in the beginning, but that’s OK because sometimes you’ve got to be tough.”
Zimmer says that she hopes her character is eventually liked, because there is a soft spot lying underneath what comes across at times as a pretty rigid exterior; however, it may take a little bit of time for all of her intentions to come out. The biggest mystery that currently exists is that she has some sort of pre-existing relationship with at least one of the doctors at the hospital already, but this is not to say automatically that is of the romantic variety.
How do you think the doctors are going to be able to keep the hospital afloat … or do you think that they even will? If you want to watch a video preview for Thursday’s episode, you can do so here.
