‘The X Factor’ USA: Fifth Harmony’s record deal, Carly Rose Sonenclar’s parade

LylasWe’re going to cut down on the “X Factor” USA notes today to just two, largely because the pair of stories we have to share here are rather interesting ones certainly worthy of the extra space … beginning with the huge news that the long-rumored Fifth Harmony record deal is finally official.

Rather than going with Syco and Columbia a la their fellow group from this season in Emblem3, Nomrani, Ally, Camila, Lauren, and Dinah Jane have been signed to Syco and Epic Records, which means that they will have further opportunities to work alongside a man in L.A. Reid who was once a harsh critic. This will give the ladies an opportunity to grow before their album is even released, and work with a pair of industry titans in L.A. as well as Simon Cowell.

In a statement, here’s what one of the ladies in Camila had to say about the deal:

Being introduced to the Syco and Epic family means the world to us. We get to learn from and work with the best in the business, people who have built the careers of artists we look up to. The fact that we’re being given the opportunity to make music that we want feels like a dream we never want to wake up from, and I literally just have to pinch myself. Simon Cowell is freaking awesome. On the show, we grew very close to him. He genuinely cared about us, not only as contestants, but as people, and we’re so grateful to have people like him and L.A. Reid as part of our lives.”

Julian Bunetta, who worked with the group as a music producer on the show (and who also has worked with One Direction), will serve as an executive producer on the project.

Carly’s honor – Meanwhile, there’s some interesting news coming out of Carly Rose Sonenclar’s home in New York that will serve as even more recognition for her achievements on the show. On January 27 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Eastern time, the reigning runner-up will lead a parade down Mamaroneck Avenue by Jefferson Avenue to Prospect Avenue in the Village of Mamroneck. This will give Carly an opportunitiy to see so many of her fans in person, especially since we have a feeling that some of them are going to end up traveling for the occasion.
