ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5 spoilers: Nathan Fillion talks love and valentines

Love will be in the air on “Castle” during their Valentine’s Day episode next month, but suffice it to say that things are not going to come easy for some of the characters … in particular Rick and Kate. Following the way in which their Christmas went at times earlier this season (which ended okay, although there were some major bumps in the road first), they will really be going all-out to try to impress each other here … especially Rick. However, it wouldn’t be Castle if things went completely according to plan, now would it?

Speaking to TV Guide in a new interview, Nathan Fillion proclaimed that the real issue that will be at the center of this episode is that something that Castle spent a great deal of time getting together for Beckett is going to end up in the hands of someone else.

“Castle picks out a wonderful gift for Kate, [but thanks to a mix-up] things get very awkward and sticky, but ultimately fans should find it romantic.”

Would it be enough to propel “Caskett” into another phase of their relationship? Let’s stop and take a deep breath for a second. While Castle and Beckett are definitely making steps towards being together forever, they also still have a ways to go to make it down the aisle. This show is a marathon rather than a race, so let’s just enjoy the two as a couple now before we start to think of them as anything more than that.
