ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5, episode 11 preview: ‘Under the Influence’ sneak peeks

Ready to get under the influence of “Castle”? While last week’s episode had some sort of progression in the relationship between Castle and Beckett, we really don’t see more of the same happening Monday night. Why? There are really a number of reasons for it.

For one, it appears already as though Rick and Kate are going to have their hands full with a rather complicated case. A DJ was found dead after opening for a major pop star, and the mystery stems largely from what happened to her over the course of the night. The pop star who hired her claims that she vanished from the part not long after putting on a playlist, and she was furious about it prior to learning that she was actually killed. It’s hard to really get any clues from the sneak peeks below, but doesn’t it always seem like every murder mystery show has an episode featuring a pop star?

As for the other reason why there’s not much Rick / Kate action being shown off here, it appears that this episode is going to be a little bit more Esposito-centered as he tries to help a young man that he sees a little bit of himself in. We certainly have no problem with Jon Huertas getting some additional opportunities to shine, especially when he kicks as much butt as he does here. (Then again, we do wonder if this is something that NYPD would really approve of.)
