ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5 spoilers: Seamus Dever teases what’s next for Ryan

With all of the time that has been spent on Castle and Beckett this season, you knew that eventually the folks behind “Castle” were going to go in a little bit of a different direction, and focus on a different character. You may already know that Monday night’s new episode “Under the Influence” is going to be centered largely around Esposito trying to help someone that he identifies with in a pretty major way, and in following that up we will have an installment around Valentine’s Day that in many ways places Detective Ryan front and center.

So what left is there to explore for the character? As Seamus Dever explains in a new interview with TVLine, we are going to continue to see the character evolve from

“There are some very romantic things going on with the rest of the precinct… and some very non-romantic things going on with the Ryans, because he’s got to rush home because Jenny’s temperature is the correct time and she’s ovulating… all those sorts of things. Ryan is actively being a participant in the child-making process!”

Hopefully, this episode can give us a little more insight into the sort of man Ryan is at home, largely since we have not really seen much of him with his wife ever since the two were married. (Of course, the fact that it is his real-life wife, as well, is icing on the cake here.) There are some other interesting episodes coming up in November, including one that Dever believes is going to shock people when it comes to its storyline.
