‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 3 spoilers: Troian Bellisario teases a post-Toby Spencer
Everyone in Rosewood is set to face a good many surprises moving forward on “Pretty Little Liars” season 3, but we don’t imagine that anyone is on the cusp of being hurt and heartbroken more than Troian Bellisario’s Spencer Hastings. This is a character who is super-intelligent and prides herself on being very self-aware, but she is soon about to have a realization of the worst kind: the very man she loves in Toby is also a member of the “A-Team.”
So just how is the character going to take it? As Bellisario tells The Huffington Post in a new interview, her finding out the truth about Toby is going to put her in a position where she could ultimately become a more dangerous player in the battle against her adversaries. Why? She really no longer has anything to lose:
“This season was the most fun for me to shoot personally because Spencer’s always been willing to go 100 percent to fight ‘A,’ but once the truth comes out about Toby — which, let’s face it, Spencer’s a very, very intelligent girl and she’s not going to stay in the dark forever — she really has lost everything, in her eyes. And when somebody loses everything, they can do anything. So while she does become … more and more destroyed, she also becomes almost more and more powerful.”
So who else is Toby working with? As this is called the “A-Team,” we know that there is at least one other person involved here, and it would not be “Pretty Little Liars” unless this person is someone we already know on some level who has been lying this whole time. It’s not clear if we are going to learn the identities of any more team members this season, but know now that the season 3 finale is set to be one of the biggest ones that the show has had to date.
