‘Oprah Next’s Chapter’: Watch the (incredibly) dramatic David Letterman promo

On January 6, “Oprah’s Next Chapter” is going to start off the new year with an interview that we personally never imagined would happen: a chat between Oprah Winfrey and a man who she famously “feuded” with for several years in David Letterman.

The first question that we have here is rather simple: why is Letterman agreeing to do this interview in the first place? Unlike some other stars, it is hard to really imagine what the benefit of him doing this could be, given that he already has a successful show, doesn’t need publicity, and doesn’t like to talk about his private life. However, someone Oprah has managed to get him to do this, and the two are seen engaging on such topics as his history with depression, the cheating scandal involving show staffers, and the origins of the fight that supposedly started when Letterman hosted the Oscars back in the 1990s.

This interview was filmed in part weeks ago, as we know that Dave and Oprah took part in a lively discussion at his alma mater of Ball State in Indiana. While some of these special have drawn interest before, what really makes this one so fascinating is the reputation that Dave has as someone who prefers to not get too deep when it comes to his personal life. The last time in which he chose to really do so was in a podcast with Alec Baldwin, but even then the talk was more centered around his career and early days in comedy rather than some sort of cheating scandal.
