‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Joseph Morgan on Klaus, Caroline’s future

Claus and CarolineThursday night’s midseason finale for “The Vampire Diaries” season 4 is going to do more than just allow for some sort of answers when it comes to Elena and Damon’s relationship. Not only will we learn more about Professor Shane and whether or not Jeremy can contain himself around Elena, but we will also be witnessing some sort of progression for Klaus and Caroline. We know that the two are spending some time together judging by a new sneak peek clip; and now, Joseph Morgan is speaking out on just how badly his character wants this relationship at the moment.

Speaking as a part of a brand-new interview with Zap2It, here is what Morgan had to say about just how much Klaus is focusing in on Caroline, especially in comparison to when he was just flirting around with the idea back in season 3:

“I would say that she’s certainly a priority at this point, yes … He’s definitely still got his own agendas, and he’s still invested in finding the cure for Elena and creating more hybrids, but he’s quite captivated by Caroline. She’s really gotten under his skin at this point. She brings out a more playful side to him, which I think he loves, though still with a certain sociopathic glint in his eye.”

If Klaus and Caroline do find a way to make this relationship work (which still seems like a bit of a stretch, there are going to be a plethora of other obstacles that they will need to overcome, whether it be Caroline’s past with Tyler … or that pesky little problem known as everyone hating Klaus among Caroline’s friends.
