‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9 spoilers: Another love interest? You bet

Just in case you were wondering whether or not there could be any more romances coming up on “Grey’s Anatomy” season 9, know this: there is about to be a new face entering the fold, just as the relationship between Jackson and April has fallen apart and Owen is orchestrating a divorce from Cristina. (You can see more on that in the new sneak peek for Thursday’s new episode “Run, Baby, Run.”)

According to a brand-new report from TV Guide, former “Ringer” star Justin Bruening has been booked on the hit ABC drama series to play the role of Matt, who is being described for the time being only as a paramedic who works at Seattle Grace. This puts him in close contact with most of the key characters working at the hospital, and April and Cristina have to be the leading candidates given that they are the two most-prominent single ladies employed at the institution.

However, there is one other possibility here to consider: Camilla Luddington’s Jo. She is really the only one of the new female interns that actually stands out, and could this be the massive kick in the pants that Alex needs to admit to having feelings for her? He has yet to get to the point where romance between the two is even in the cards, but the chemistry between the two characters is unmistakable. (In other words, we are totally shipping these two together at the moment.)

Bruening will unfortunately not be appearing until 2013, but this may be a good thing given that there are so many other storylines that still need to be addressed … especially Meredith’s pregnancy, given the fact that this was barely addressed at all during the intern-heavy episode last week.
