‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8, episode 10 preview: A different take

“How I Met Your Mother” season 8 is near the end of the first half of its season, and with that we are launching ourselves onward to a half-hour that is going to be very important to the future of more than just a couple of characters in “The Over-Correction.” We’ve already shown you one preview that is all about Robin’s desperation, so this time around, we are placing the focus on something else entirely in Marshall and Lily.

It’s been a while since we have seen Marshall’s mother turn up on the show, but she is doing so here to pay her son for a visit just in time for the holiday season. So what is the story going to be about? The promo does not really give too much away, at least with the exception of the fact that there is going to be the usual sort of back and forth between Lily and the other woman in Marshall’s life.

Even though it seems as though the show’s already-established couple has had everything going for them at times this season, the writers have been nice to make it clear that there is still conflict across the board, whether it be by reminding us about the time restraints putting a baby has on you or Marshall’s realization that he is not fully happy being just an environmental lawyer, and his real passion is someday getting the opportunity to become a judge.
