ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5 spoilers: Gina Torres reunites with Nathan Fillion

The following news is sure to make just about any and every fan of “Firefly” celebrate with a few well-placed cheers: Gina Torres and Nathan Fillion are reuniting for an upcoming episode of “Castle.”

According to a new report from TVLine, the actress (who is currently a regular on the underrated “Suits”) will be appearing in the 14th episode of season 5 (presumably to air during the February sweeps) as a fashion mogul named Samatha Foster who is on a reality show that draws some major comparisons to a certain other franchise in Bravo’s “The Real Housewives.” This episode featuring the actress is entitled “Reality Star Struck,” and it could reveal that there is even more deception and craziness behind her character than what we solely see on TV.

Torres is the second former “Firefly” star in two years to stop by the show, as she is following up an appearance by Adam Baldwin last year as a cop who failed to really follow any of the rules at all that are generally acceptable for someone in his position. Now, we just have to hope that Summer Glau, Jewel Staite, and some of the other stars of the Fox sensation (which remains to this day the biggest example of a show getting canceled before its time) find a way to turn up in this fictional New York City world soon.

“Castle” will return following “The Bachelor” on January 7 with an episode entitled “Significant Others,” which will hopefully be an occasion in which we do get to find out more information about where Castle and Beckett are going to go next.
