NBC’s ‘The Voice’: Read Adam Levine’s epic ‘Honey Boo Boo’ rant
Based on what Adam Levine is saying now, there is one thing that we can officially assume: he does not like “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.” At all. As a matter of fact, he may hate the TLC show even more than he hates the Roxy.
In a new interview for GQ’s December issue, the Maroon 5 frontman and coach on “The Voice” holds absolutely nothing (and we mean nothing) back when it comes to talking about young Alana Thompson and her show, and what we are about to bring to you can be considered more or less the greatest hits of the rant. You’ve been warned, though: this is going to be rather obscene, and the odds are at least somewhat high that you may be offended if you have just a shred of Honey Boo Boo affection in your system.
-Honey Boo Boo’ is the DECAY of Western civilization.”
-“Just because so many people watch the show doesn’t mean it’s good. So many people witness atrocities and can’t take their eyes away from them, but that doesn’t mean they’re good.”
-“That show is literally The. Worst. Thing. That’s. Ever. Happened.”
This is where things get heated:
-““It’s complete f–king ignorance and the most despicable way to treat your kids. F–k those people. You can put that in the magazine: F–k those idiots. cThey’re just the worst. Sorry, I’m so sensitive to that—like, I don’t know, man, it’s upsetting.”
-“Just to clarify, I said, “F–K THOSE PEOPLE.”
Of course, we have a feeling that Alana’s mother June Shannon and TLC would probably come back and insist that in spite of what Levine may think about their program, it is really all in good fun and they are not out to hurt anyone. While there is no question that the show has permeated pop culture and there are some funny catch-phrases, watching Honey Boo Boo’s publicity tour earlier this fall, where she pouted and misbehaved from a series of interviews, may really serve Levine’s point rather well.
Do you think Levine is right to rip Honey Boo Boo, or is this so random that it is completely irrelevant to begin with? If you want to preview Monday night’s “The Voice” performance show by checking out our contestant rankings, you can do so over here.
