‘The New Normal’ spoilers: Enter Marlo Thomas

“The New Normal” will be celebrating the holiday season on Tuesday night, and with that comes a story that is all about family, comedy, and Nana drinking a little too much eggnog. For whatever reason, getting drunk apparently turns Ellen Barkin’s character into a tolerable human being, and we have the proof of it courtesy of the brand-new sneak peek clip below.

In this video, we have an opportunity to see a rather unusual pairing in Nana and Bryan spend a little bit time together, and he even takes the conservative, gay-bashing grandmother of Goldie to a party hosted by a swanky Hollywood realtor played by none other than Marlo Thomas. This is going to lead mostly to some fun situations, though we have it on good authority that things are going to get even crazier moving forward to later on in the half-hour.

Hopefully, there will be enough comedy courtesy of this Christmas episode to tide us over for a while. After all, “The New Normal” is going to be gone courtesy of the Christmas holiday until early next year, as NBC is getting set to unveil a holiday lineup featuring Howie Mandel and an assortment of various specials. After all, the network wants to ensure that their biggest hits (like this one) are around to keep shining long into 2013. It is at that point that we will see an episode featuring a guest-starring turn by Matt Bomer, along with us hopefully getting closer to David and Bryan’s wedding.
