CBS ‘Elementary’ spoilers: What happens when Watson’s time with Holmes is up?
We all know it’s coming – Watson’s time as Holmes’ sober companion on “Elementary” will come to an end after the six week period is up and it’s coming sooner then anyone thought, so how are the masterminds behind the show planning on keeping her involved in Holmes’ life after she is no longer employed to do so by his father?
In a new interview with TV Guide, executive producer Rob Doherty reveals that Watson and Holmes will be facing the inevitable end of their arrangement on the 12th episode of the show. He also said that he just wrote the script for that episode, so we were hoping that he would give fans more details as to what their new relationship will be, but he was fairly tight lipped about it. He said:
“Without telling you what we do, I can tell you the episode. I feel like I’m self-promoting, but it’s the script I just wrote, and it’s the 12th episode that airs. We are closing in on the final days of her six-week stint. So the episode will honor that and also reposition the players. At the end of the day, we rather desperately want to keep our Holmes and our Watson together.”
Doherty also revealed that while they haven’t cast the person who will play Holmes’ father, they are planning on bringing him into the picture at some point, but they don’t want to rush into it since he’s such an important character who has obviously influenced Sherlock’s life quite a bit. Also Holmes’ arch nemesis, Moriarty, will be playing a part at some point, but there is very little movement on that character right now.
If you can’t wait until next week’s episode (airing on Thursday, December 6 at 10 p.m. on CBS) and want a little sneak peek of what’s to come, be sure to check out the new “Elementary” promo below and tell us what you think.
