‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ spoilers: Will Lana have a happy ending?
Last night’s episode of “American Horror Story: Asylum'” was particularly brutal when it came to Lana Winters’ story line. When we first met her she was so fearless with a strong sense of where her life was headed, and even though many characters at Briarcliff have tried to break her spirit, she never gives up the fight. Even while she was being assaulted in Bloody Face’s basement of horrors last night and the Dark Angel appeared, she still decided that she wasn’t going to take the easy way out and planned on fighting until the bitter end.
So will there be a happy ending for Lana, or will this just be one brutal experience after another until she ultimately expires or loses herself completely? It’s always had to predict these things, especially with the horror genre, but creator Ryan Murphy recently told Entertainment Weekly that Lana will have audiences cheering for her during the Christmas episode and that ultimately he is working on writing an ending for her that viewers will be happy with. He said:
“I mean Sarah (Paulson) and I talked about that when we first started to write this stuff. I didn’t wanna do something that was just so awful and then there’s your bad ending. There are many characters in the show and most of them don’t survive. But I thought the Lana story was really about the power of the spirit to survive any and all horrors. I thought that there’s great scenes in the one after Dark Cousin which is the most f****ed up Christmas episode of all time where instead of praying for Lana, you’ll be cheering for Lana. It’s a script I think Sarah loved playing. We’re writing the ending right now so I think people will love what happens to Sarah and what she ultimately does.”
Murphy also revealed that he knows the story he wants to tell for season 3 of “American Horror Story” and that he plans to leave clues in the finale of season 2 as to what season 3 might be about (like he did with season 1 for season 2). While we know that Jessica Lange will be back again for season 3, but Murphy said he’s not sure who else he will be bringing back – we can only hope that at least Peter Evans and Zachary Quinto will be on his list.
Do you want to see Lana’s story have some sort of a happy ending (or at least as happy as it can get at this point)? Who from the cast do you want to see return for “American Horror Story” season 3? Leave us a comment below and tell us what you think.

I want Frances Conroy to be back. She is much more amazing than Lange. And by the way, what are the clues that are left in season 1 finale about season 2?
