‘Dexter’ season 7 spoilers: The dark road ahead

We all know that there was going to be some trouble ahead on season 7 of “Dexter” … but who out there could imagine that this trouble would lead to one of the show’s beloved characters being in big trouble? Based on some of the scoop that we are hearing now courtesy of the upcoming tenth episode of the season, it looks like we are going to be seeing a game-changer within it that really alters the course of the entire series.

According to TV Guide, someone who gets close to our leading man here is going to end up paying for it by facing some serious consequences. Based on what we traditionally see out of this show, this means that they die; however, this does not necessarily have to be the case. The biggest problem Dexter faces at the moment is that he is completely unaware of the investigation still going on into the Bay Harbor Butcher courtesy of LaGuerta and now Matthews, and this leaves him completely exposed to anything and everything.

To make matters worse, this episode is also going to feature these two characters visiting a past crime scene that is going to start them down a road that really leads only to Dexter. What scene could it be? That much is still unclear, but the obvious guess here would be that they would either be revisiting the church from the start of this season or the scene of Sargent Doakes’ death, mostly because these are really the only two scenes with any sort of significant connection to the Butcher storyline.
