For this weekend’s all-new “Saturday Night Live” episode, Jeremy Renner is going to not only prove that he can be intense, but that he can also be silly … and cowardly.
The NBC show just released their brand-new promo for the show featuring the “Bourne Legacy” star alongside Kenan Thompson, and there is major comedy to be had for all. For one, we get to see what happens when a major action here is spooked by a “mouse,” as well as just how many shots of booze he is capable of doing.
While there is not one clip in here featuring Renner and Thompson that is top-grade hilarious, the brief homage to “Pretty Woman” is rather funny, as is watching the movie star trick Kenan into believing the he invited him down to Brooklyn just to shoot the promo when in reality that actually is some sort of grand government conspiracy afoot.
This is going to be a rather interesting show to watch just from a performance standpoint alone. Renner is consistently heralded as one of the best action stars in Hollywood, but comedy is not something that anyone really knows him by at all. This also marks his first-ever appearance as a host, which means more than ever that the pressure will be on him to deliver something great … so much so that there will likely be some nerves early on in the show. While “SNL” has been uneven as of late, there have been some pretty stellar sketches over the past few weeks, including Bruno Mars’ multiple impersonations and Mokiki introducing us to the Sloppy Switch during the episode airing last week.
What do you think about this video, and do you think that Renner could end up being a great host for the show? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below! If you want to read about some other “SNL” highlights, you can do so over here.
