‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9 spoilers: Scoop on Alex, April, and the interns

“Grey’s Anatomy” season 9 can probably be best described as a year of transition thus far. Cristina has moved away from (and back to) Seattle Grace, Derek is getting use to life following his devastating hand injury, Arizona now has a prosthetic leg, and many of the former residents are now getting used to their titles as attending physicians. Despite all of the opportunities elsewhere, it really is interesting to see how everyone really decided at the end of the day to be in the Pacific Northwest.

For some of the interns, this transition is the biggest of all given that they are going from being firmly in a classroom to out on the floor of a hospital, and for some this move is harder than others. TV Guide recently caught up with some of the actors behind these roles, and some of them already had some fascinating things to say about how their characters are reacting to life with some of the established doctors.

When it comes to one Camilla Luddington (who plays Jo), the actress proclaimed that Alex is really going to go out of her way to”give her a hard time: “Alex gets under her skin as no one else has done and calls her ‘Princess.'” But could this be a good thing? We’re suspecting that there still could be a love connection here eventually, but it is going to take time (as it should with any good romance).

As for Gaius Charles’ Shane, he claims that a rather disgusting procedure on a certain part of a patient’s body is going to lead to some bonding between himself and one of his mentors in April: “It’s gross and humiliating, but some good comes out of it … Shane and April form a friendship.” Key word here being “friendship”, so know that April’s love life is still centered around Jackson.
