‘The Newsroom’ season 2 spoilers: Patton Oswalt, Rosemarie DeWitt check in
Did you love “The Newsroom” during the first season? If so, you’re far from the only one. Although the series was oftentimes polarizing for many fans, it also was a rather fascinating depiction of the cable news world with some great characters and a narrative that really plunged you into the news of the time.
Now, there is some even more exciting news for the upcoming second go-around to air in 2013. Sources have confirmed that there is going to be a minor “The United States of Tara” reunion on the show, as Rosemarie DeWitt and Patton Oswalt are each going to be joining the HBO show on a recurring basis. However, this time around they are not going to be playing a couple. Oswalt, who is still best known for his work as a standup comedian, will be taking on the part of Atlantis Cable News’ vice-president of human resources Jonas Pfeiffer, whereas Dewitt will play the part of Rebecca Halliday, a litigator who is brought in for a wrongful termination lawsuit. If you are like us, then you are probably feeling pretty curious already as to who could be terminated here…
There are a number of options as to where HBO could end up placing “The Newsroom” season 2, as there are spots available early next year thanks to the departure of “Luck.” However, our guess is that it will continue to be paired up with “True Blood” next summer thanks largely to the strong performance of both shows then, and also the fact that Aaron Sorkin needs enough time to really get the scripts fready for another ten episodes.
What do you think about these castings, and are you excited to see where season 2 could go thanks to the Presidential election?

Please DO NOT continue with “Newsroom” on Saturdays as you are doing now. Most people do not watch television on Saturday night, and this is an award-winning show. It deserves a better time slot. Sundays was just fine. Thanks.
