‘Fringe’ season 5: Exec on ‘bittersweet’ feeling leading to series finale
“Fringe” is going to be wrapping up its run on Fox come January 31, and this is going to surely be an emotional day for anyone who has become invested in this show over time. After all, this is one of those programs that has really felt like a movement at times more so than an actual show, as the fans are solely responsible for keeping this on the air to begin with.
With all of this being said, one person in executive producer J.H. Wyman is not waiting until this finale happens to start getting emotional. As a part of a brand-new interview with SFX, he explained that ending a show like this, especially something that has become so ingrained into his own consciousness and creative spirit, is not going to be something easy for him to leave behind at all:
“It’s not hard but more bittersweet. I’m going to leave this season saying I wouldn’t change a frame and that’s what I want. It’s hard emotionally, a lot harder than I thought it would be. But I’m really good at understanding things as I’m going through them. I said to the writers, ‘You guys, this is the end. We have to cherish every single moment and every single word that we do. It’s so important because this kind of thing rarely happens. We have to experience this and be conscious because you want to look back and know it was breathtaking.’ We’re writing the last two episodes now and I feel we are writing perfectly good scenes over because maybe we don’t want to finish the scripts because when one is finished…now it’s a feeling of relief and dread.”
Thus far, “Fringe” season 5 has already produced one shocker in the death of Etta, and you have to believe that more are going to be coming up now before the story is wrapped. You can see a promo for Friday night’s awesome-looking episode titled “Through the Looking Glass and What Walter Found There” below, and there is plenty of reason to be excited already.
How do you think that “Fringe” should wrap up its run?
Olivia Dunham

Wyman has destroyed the Olivia Dunham character with the Peter and OLivia soap story, she has been reduced to a Pacey girl behind Peter.
Season 1 and 2 she already was used for the Bishops , season 4 again, and now the final season even more
Jackson and Noble clearly got what they wanted , Anna Torv sidelined so that they could get back centerstage like season 1 and 2 and 4,
but reducing Olivia like this, not even giving her a decent line anymore, is disgusting.
They could have done so much with Olivia Dunham, but do not want to write for her or Anna Torv,(he could for Etta)
Jackson and Noble are Wymans favorites,
Noble saying in a video that everyone on the cast safe Jackosn had so much to do, What a Joke ,shame on you John Noble.
The only 2 characters that had all the writing was and is Walter and Peter, and for Noble and Jackson Anna Torv has now been sacrificed again, in the final season.
I feel sorry for Anna, awesome actress, hope she will get decent material and costars without big egos in teh future.
