‘American Idol’ notes: Kris Allen, Adam Lambert, Lee DeWyze
Now that the Presidential Election is over, we can settle back in now with some “American Idol” notes, beginning with a pair of season 8 stars and closing with the latest news courtesy of Lee DeWyze’s concert that was set to happen in Nashville tonight.
Christmas music from Kris Allen – Does anyone else find this photo to be absolutely hilarious? We do, and it comes courtesy of Allen’s announcement to be on the lookout for some new music soon with this title. What we don’t know at the moment is if this is an EP or just a holiday track, but either way it is certainly welcome.
Kris will be the second “American Idol” alum this year to actually release a holiday album, as he is following up “Christmas with Scotty McCreery” from last month. Before that, season 7 star David Archuleta also had a notable Christmas album that still receives airplay to this day.
Adam’s cause for celebration – Wednesday may very well be one of Adam Lambert’s best days of the year. Not only is it the day after the election (where his pick in President Obama was re-elected and were gay marriage was legalized in both Maryland and Maine), but Adam is coming off a two-year anniversary dinner with his boyfriend Sauli Koskinen. Despite being a well-known couple for some time, you have to give both of them some serious credit for finding way to keep their relationship loving while at the same time reasonably private. Any celebrity in Hollywood can tell you just how hard that can be.
Lee DeWyze news – For those of you hoping to see the season 9 champ in Nashville tonight, there is some sad news coming in: it’s been pushed back. Lee explains why in a post on his Twitter account, and while he deleted it later, you can still see it up on his Facebook page:
“So, I want to address the show in Nashville tomorrow. I’m kinda shocked Myself, but apparently… the television show ‘Nashville’ has decided to film there tomorrow. What has to be done. Please understand it is out of our hands, and we WILL reschedule the show. 12th & Porter has been totally cool With us, and are working it out so we will be back soon :)”
This is the second show that Lee has been forced to push back in the last week and a half, as he also had to reschedule an east coast date following the arrival of Hurricane Sandy.

Yay for Christmas music from Kris! He’s the real deal. And speaking of real deals, NOBODY sings Christmas music like David Archuleta! Or any music for that matter! haha Thanks, violet4ever, for mentioning not only his incredible Christmas From The Heart cd, but Glad Christmas Tidings recorded with the Mormon Tabernalce Choir. If you want the Christmas spirit, just put on some music! :)

@speedy59 … That’s how much YOU know about ADAM & Sauli … everyone at the ADAM fansites have been wishing them a Happy 2nd Anniversary so this WASN’T a last minute thought on ADAM’s part. Besides … since they live TOGETHER … WHY would it be necessary for EITHER of them to TWEET anything?? Saying it in PERSON is so much BETTER-ER!! lol … right back at you …

Nice article – it will be interesting to see what songs Kris chose for his EP. And thanks for mentioning David Archuleta’s Christmas from the Heart – it’s a gorgeous album and was in the top 10 of Billboard’s Holiday Albums chart for the whole season, peaking at #2. Archuleta is also the soloist on 1/2 of the tracks of the 2011 Mormon Tabernacle Choir CD or DVD Glad Christmas Tidings, recorded live in 2010 when he was the guest artist for their Christmas concert series.

That album art is hilarious. I so can’t wait to get it when it’s available!
@speedy29 – Why should we expect his boyfriend to respond on Twitter just to satisfy onlookers/fans? What matters is what is said personally.

Looking forward to hearing the new Christmas CD from Kris Allen. The cover art is so Kris. I’m glad he is finally getting to do what he wants.
I think that the crew of Nashville should have rearranged their schedule or picked another place. I’ve worked in the industry for years. I know how scenes can be rearranged day wise. Shame on “Nashville” for manipulating the club. They must have paid them real big bucks.

“Waiting for Christmas” is actually the title of a 5-song Christmas ep that Kris Allen will soon be releasing. Can’t wait…and you gotta love the cover.
