‘Glee’ season 4 spoilers: Notes on Darren Criss, Damian McGinty
There are some small “Glee” season 4 highlights hitting the press now in preparation for the upcoming “The Role You Were Born To Play” episode … but we are kicking things off here by talking about the upcoming seventh episode of the season entitled “Dynamic Duets,” which will be shockingly airing on Thanksgiving night. It’s a rare choice to actually air a new episode of any show on the holiday, but this suggests to us that Fox plans on keeping their lineup the same for both this show and “The X Factor” despite the fact that many people may be off eating turkey with their families.
Fox has released already the official synopsis for the episode, but it makes no mention of Thanksgiving, even though we know it will be featured in some capacity:
“A love triangle heats up among Marley, Jake and Ryder, and Blaine has a run-in with the Warblers.”
While it sounds like this hour will be a nice showcase for Darren Criss’ character, who we want to actually focus on here is someone who has actually yet to make an appearance on “Glee” season 4: Damian McGinty. Despite Ryan Murphy at one point saying that we would be seeing more from “The Glee Project” season 1 co-champion here, McGinty is not listed as being among the guest cast. (However, you will be seeing more of Grant Gustin here.)
So what gives on the lack or Rory Flanagan? Adam Shankman is currently directing the show’s Christmas episode, and he replied to a fan asking if we would be seeing Damian appear in it with a cryptic response of “maybe.” The main reason behind the character’s absence has simply been that the writers ran out of things to do with him, even though the door was always open for him to turn up again in the future.

Damian still hasn’t released any statement confirming that he’s returning to Glee for one or more episodes. So, will continue to assume this is just more false Glee gunk aimed at boosting viewership, unless and until Ryan Murphy or Damian himself officially confirm his return. Until then, there’s just no reason to watch Glee, since to watch would be to support the way Glee has treated Damian..

Agree with all of the above, especially “writers ran out of things to do with him”……plan one from day one! (Couldn’t stop laughin’ after “Reality.Bites” comment.) That evil cabal of writers over at Glee central are havin’ a good ol’ time messin’ with us, aren’t they, “scheister-hoffens” that they be. Givin’ them the side-eye on this one, though….I’m smellin’ a skunk in the wood pile…CANNOT wait to see how this part of the saga plays out….Better than an episode of “24!”…..to be cont…Will it be :( ….or will it be this :)…..?????

And now Glee (via Adam Shankman) is saying McGinty will return for the Christmas episode. This time, they’ve even released a supposedly recent photo. Does anyone really believe this??? After all the false info released through the Glee folks regarding Damian’s return (could they really be that desperate for ratings?), it’s tough to give any credence to this at all. Oh well, time will tell. If McGinty does return for Christmas, I’ll record the show and zip through it to see if Glee does a better job with him than last year. Otherwise, see no reason to watch the show.

The writers ran out of things to do with him before his first appearance.
