‘American Idol’ notes: Adam Lambert, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj
We’re in the middle of a reasonably quiet day in the world of “American Idol,” so with this in mind our new edition of the notes is really just based around a pair of stories. With this being said, there is still plenty within these stories worth reading, watching, or talking about.
We’ll kick things off here courtesy of Nicki Minaj, who chose to make her opinions about her fellow judge for season 12 in Mariah Carey rather clear during the new E! special “Nicki Minaj: My Truth” that started up on Sunday night. In just a span of months we’ve learned that this is a woman who literally holds nothing back, and in one scene she really opts not to do so when discussing the music icon feuding with her on the set of the show:
“I think that Mariah met her match this time … And I don’t think she was expecting to meet her match.”
Zing! Sadly, the video to the left is really going to be available only if you are reading from the United States; but hopefully, you get the message here regardless.
A new Adam performance – Just for fun, we’re also going to throw in a new performance from Adam Lambert during the “Live in the Vineyard” event. This was a different sort of show than usual in that most of the songs were more intimate and focused solely around his voice; and when you have a voice like Adam’s, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
The video we’re sharing here is of “Broken English,” largely because this is the one that Adam posted on his own Twitter page after the show.

It is not Adam’s gayness that “sets him apart” – it is the absolutely astounding quality of his VOICE and his amazing charisma and stage presence when performing. He is a top quality performer like no other. He should be getting far more recognition for his many talents, including way more radio play. It will come with time and I have no doubt he will be THE musical ICON of the 21st century. What a remarkable man!!!!! Will love him forever.
Nicki Minaj , on the other hand, is talentless and classless. What was AI thinking in hiring her ?? Huge mistake.

I dont think the “Gay” thing is neccessarily the reason why Adam struggles for Aiprlay in US, I mean WWFM was a massive HAC hit in USA, and the fact he is the only Mainstream Openly Gay Pop Star to be on a MAJOR Recording Label, that makes him unique. That uniquness temporarily may prevent him from gaining recogntion, but its what sets him apart and why he eventually cracks it with the right song, hence WWFM. I think TP is very current but needs more US Tv Exposure before breaking down the “Radio Wall”. This is without biast or impartiality but Adam Lambert could be this generations Michael Jackson, RCA are doing nothing because I dont think they know how to Market him unfortunately like other pop stars.

As a viewer from day one of idol- I am beyond pissed off that they chose this Nicki M rapper thinking they will get ratings! Idol’s in for a surprize- they will loose half thier viewers ! Wrong show to have her on- she’s belongs on MTV where the tweenies and rappers all hang out! Adam is the real deal, but sadly American doesn’t know it! Any other country would of jumped at that chance to get Adam!

Unfortunate that the world is like it is, because if he was not Gay, he would have had the World in his hands. The second coming of an Elvis status.

I agree with Mary. The radio play situations in the US and many other countries are depressing and disappointing. The quality of music are continuing to go downhill.

Adam is an amazing artist. It is a shame that US radio is not embracing a talent such as Adam Lambert but rather support no class acts like Nicki Minaj. Unbelievable!
