‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2 spoilers: Everything has an origin story

If there has been one glaring problem with Emma Swan leading up to “Once Upon a Time” season 2, it’s that we really have not known anything about her. Sure, she worked as a bail bondsman at the time of the pilot, and also wore some sort of pink minidress that still seems shocking when you consider what her wardrobe choices on the show have been ever since.

Thankfully, we are getting plenty of answers on Sunday night, including just how in the world she managed to score the old-school yellow Beetle that serves as her mode of transportation. Who would have guessed that she stole it? This is precisely what happened, though, and she also ends up meeting the mysterious man known as Neal Cassidy (Michael Raymond-James) in the process.

Anyone who has been watching this show carefully over the year clearly knows already that this is the same man who we saw receive a message at the very beginning of the season, she he clearly has some connection to Storybrooke. In addition to that, all of the evidence out there in his apartment points to him being a certain fairytale character whose name has already been introduced this season. Could we be wrong? Sure, but we don’t want to share the full extent of our theory for the event that we happen to be right.

There is surely going to be one other question during this episode that will be addressed: is Neal Henry’s father? We have heard from the executive producers already that we are going to find out just who this mystery man is by the end of this season, but there are also still plenty of opportunities coming up to figure that out. What we do know is that Emma met Neal eleven years ago, and Henry just so happens to be ten. Therefore, he has to be a candidate.
