‘The Simpsons’ video: Mr. Burns tries to endorse Mitt Romney

Even “The Simpsons” is currently getting election fever … at least when it comes to one of Springfield’s wealthiest residents. The new video below features none other than Montgomery Burns making what is one of the most predictable endorsements ever for Mitt Romney, though the way in which he does it is a little bit shocking and also pretty funny.

In the video below, you can see just what we are talking about as Burns tries to use Romney’s dog Seamus, who has become a central figure during his 2008 and 2012 campaign over a trip he took decades ago with the dog in a kennel tied to the roof of his car. While it’s pretty clear that the writers for “The Simpsons” are doing this scene with a distinct bias towards President Obama, the skit can still be perceived as funny regardless of your affiliation depending on just how seriously you are interested in taking it.

This clip is online mere days before “The Simpsons” airs on Fox, but more importantly a few days before the Presidential election. Hurricane Sandy has taken the attention off of who will likely end up being elected on Tuesday, and in many ways it has created some confusion in the polls as to who may end up receiving the most votes. Will there be the same sort of turnout in the tri-state area, or are people going to be more preoccupied rebuilding their own lives? These are just some of the questions that need to be answered at this very moment.
