ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5 spoilers: ‘Switched at Birth’ star out in casting switcheroo

“Castle” is already starting production on some of its episodes to air in the new year, and when it comes to the “Significant Others” episode that features a rather stellar cast coming up, it also looks like we are going to see a change to the players who were already on board.

Multiple sources have confirmed that Mark Deklin of “GCB” fame has signed on for a guest-starring role in this episode, and Chris Wiehl of “Switched at Birth” has decided to drop out. There’s no word yet on why the change happened, but it could be anything from family obligations to scheduling conflicts. This episode is going to revolve in some ways around the high-profile world of divorce, and with that in mind, we are sure that at some point Castle and Beckett are going to use this as a lens to try and examiner their own relationship. Honestly, we would not be stunned to see this turn out to be similar to the episode of “Bones” earlier this season that revolved around a similar concept for Booth and Brennan.

“Castle” still does have a plethora of episodes on slate for the rest of this year, including installments that are all about the worlds of science fiction, the mob, and of course a holiday episode where “Santa Claus” is set to have some sort of important role. Who’s to bet that Rick gets at least one piece of coal in his stocking this year?

We don’t know the official return date of “Castle” in 2013 just yet, but we will be sure to have more information for you as soon as it becomes available.
