The Blacklist season 7 episode 5 spoilers: Reddington, Dembe’s search

After tonight’s The Blacklist season 7 episode “Kuwait,” next week’s “Norman Devane” will continue to make things quite complicated. After all, Katarina Rostova is still in the mix, Reddington is doing his best to collect information, and Liz Keen has herself in a precarious position. Everything has been building leading up to this season, and the end results are probably going to prove to be quite chaotic.

Before diving too far down any particular rabbit hole, let’s kick things off by sharing the official The Blacklist season 7 episode 5 synopsis below:

11/01/2019 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) (Friday) : Liz and the Task Force investigate an infamous assassin who has a long history of weaponizing diseases, but has now turned to even more insidious activities. Meanwhile, Red and Dembe travel to Cuba in search of a lead, and Aram considers a new relationship. Elizabeth Bogush guest stars. TV-14 V

If we had to guess, we’d say that Devane is likely to be the assassin who uses diseases as a weapon. The initial question that we’ve got, upon reading what we’ve already shared, is this — what is more insidious than weaponizing diseases? What other chaos is there?

As to what else is coming up, we’re curious to see a little bit more about what Reddington and Dembe are up to as they continue their push for answers on the Townsend Directive. Remember that understanding this has been a driving force for much of this season so far and, clearly, their work is not over.

Finally, with Aram, it feels like his love interest is going to be Bogush’s Elodie. How could it not be? They both have dealt with a form of grief, so there is a little bit of common ground that the two share. The real fear here, though, has to be that this is yet another occasion in which someone gets mixed up with a character who is actually a criminal. It feels like we’ve gone down this road many times already.
