In the photo HERE via Starz’s official account, you can see the series’ two stars front and center in an exciting look at what will be the new homestead on Fraser’s Ridge. We know that the Big House was under construction by Jon Gary Steele and his team long before filming for season 5 began, and it’s certainly something that makes some sense for the folks over at Fraser’s Ridge. Just think about it in this way — when the cabin was first built, it wasn’t done with the knowledge that Roger and Bree would be joining Jamie and Claire in North Carolina. Beyond that, Roger and Bree also now have a baby, and there could be other characters gravitating towards Fraser’s Ridge throughout the season 5.
The Big House can be the home base for all things Frasers coming up. They need that sort of place to center themselves, given the inevitable conflicts bubbling underneath the surface at every turn. Remember that season 5 will force Jamie to make a decision — either side with Murtagh and the Regulators, or find a way to profess your loyalty to the Crown. You can try to do both for a certain period of time, but eventually, the rubber will meet the road and you have to contend with the end result.
Rest assured, though, that amidst the chaos and political turmoil, Outlander will continue to have the love story elements you crave. While season 4 was a lot about building a home, season 5 is about maintaining it and celebrating the wonderful family you have … while also still dealing with conflicts, the threat of war, and the like.
Season 5 premieres on Starz come February 16, and you are correct to believe that this is a really long time to wait for more new stories to air. Won’t it be worth it, though?
