Outlander notes: Autumn in full force as season 5 filming presses on
One of the questions we find ourselves wondering at present is simply this: Is this one of the most secluded seasons of the series ever? Save for a small spell of filming near Glasgow earlier this year, producers have found a way to keep most of the cast and crew’s work off the map. That’s probably due to the time period, plus the architecture of North Carolina. It’s one thing to have the wilderness serve as a double; it’s a little more difficult to do that when you are thinking more about the city-scapes.
Because of this seclusion, we’re more reliant on the cast and crew for a glimpse into their world — but they’ve been happy to provide them. This feels to be a busy week for both Richard Rankin and Sophie Skelton on set, as they’ve been very active sharing multiple photos and also behind-the-scenes teases. The gorgeous image below is courtesy of Rankin’s Instagram — this is another reminder that photography is one of his biggest pursuits. This is a beautiful look at what has to be the landscape around Fraser’s Ridge.
So what will characters like Roger and Bree be doing near the end of Outlander season 5 around Fraser’s Ridge? One worthy guess here is that they are doing what they can to prepare themselves for what is to come — think along the lines of the Revolutionary War. This is the crisis that is central to future seasons, and with the foresight they have, they may be able to prepare for it better than most.
What are you the most excited to see when it comes to Outlander season 5?
