The Blacklist season 7 episode 6 spoilers: Who is ‘Dr. Lewis Powell’?
before we dive deeper into this discussion, context is important. That’s why we are kicking off this article with the synopsis — it may unlock a couple of possibilities for when this episode airs on November 8:
11/08/2019 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) (Friday) : Red alerts the FBI to the suspicious death of a scientist specializing in artificial intelligence research. Meanwhile, Francesca Campbell (guest star Natalie Paul) further entangles herself in Red’s criminal activities. Laila Robins, Teddy Coluca and Coy Stewart also guest star.

In getting back to the synopsis, one of the things that we wonder is if there’s a connection between Lewis Powell and Julian Powell, a scientist from “The Longevity Initiative” back in season 2. Are they related? Is this just “Powell” serving as an extremely common last name? Maybe it’s a fun last-name Easter egg and nothing more than that.
Yet, here we are also assuming that Dr. Lewis Powell is the scientist, as opposed to the person who killed him. It’s easy to draw the former as the assumption, given that we’re talking about a Doctor here … but could a Doctor kill another Doctor? In the sea of bizarre The Blacklist twists, this would probably prove itself to be the least shocking of all.
Francesca Campbell’s time to shine
We assumed, that in the wake of Samar’s exit, The Blacklist would try to find a replacement in the form of a new Task Force agent. Are they going another direction here instead and bulking up Team Reddington? It’d make some sense given that some of his former associates are gone, including most notably Mr. Kaplan. Plus, it keeps us on our toes when it comes to how the show toys with its cast. They’ve given us just enough mystery in regards to “Frankie,” including her brazenly lying to Reddington about her personal life, to make us wonder what she’s really angling to get out of this association.
