‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Ian Somerhalder goes to college!

Yes, “The Vampire Diaries” can often be a super-serious show stuffed full of drama, tears, and violence; but it can also be plenty of fun, and we have more evidence of that now in the latest sneak peek from Thursday night’s new episode entitled “The Five.”

So what is really going on here? Basically, we are getting an opportunity to see what happens when Ian Somerhalder’s Damon decides to take it upon himself to teach Elena (Nina Dobrev) the finer ways on being a vampire; or, to really test what level of self-control she really has by taking her to the perfect feeding ground for vampires: a college campus. The two are traveling here with Bonnie, who is resurfacing this week after a brief absence with a message of her own: she doesn’t like that Elena is sucking blood, but she also realizes at this point that there is not really all that much that she can do to stop it.

We also learn in this clip that this is hardly the first time that Damon has been on a campus, and that he has a certain fascination with going back time and time again so that he can feed on sorority girls. This may be rather gross, but it also is certainly appropriate given who we are looking at here.

Based on the title for this episode alone, you also have to believe that by the time that this is over, we are going to be getting an even greater understanding of just who vampire hunter Connor is, and what makes being a part of the elusive group “The Five” all so special.
