Unfortunately, here is the problem for Meredith at the moment: She doesn’t have a job. She’s still not a full-time employee of the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital and so long as she’s in this position, things are going to be tough for her. You’re asking her to spend her time doing something that is not her speed and style … but she’s still going to try and doctor, even if it’s not in her title. She’ll just try to find a way to help her, regardless of whether or not they want said help.
Below, CarterMatt offers up the official Grey’s Anatomy season 16 episode 2 synopsis with more on what to expect coming up:
The Grey Sloan doctors operate on a man who crashed into Maggie’s car as Owen, back from paternity leave, struggles with Tom’s new position. Outside the hospital, Meredith’s recent firing doesn’t stop her from diagnosing those around her. Plus, Richard and Alex start anew and it’s not easy. All the while, Jo readies herself to return to work, and Amelia has a new revelation in her relationship with Link.
As you can tell from some of these details, there are a lot of big stories coming up in this hour. Tom Koracick may be vengeful after everything that happened with Owen and Teddy, and you have to wonder whether or not Jo is going to be fully ready after all she’s gone through. We’re hopeful that she’ll be okay, but this is something that goes away quickly? Probably not.
Based on the promo that we saw tonight, Meredith losing her license could be at the center of all stories. Also, Amelia and her pregnancy. Who could be the father?
