As you may have heard already, the Lucifer season 5 episode 2 title was going to have three Ls at the start of each word. There was speculation aplenty as to what this could be about, and we’ve now got official ord via the show’s writers’ room!

In a post on Twitter, it was revealed that “Lucifer! Lucifer! Lucifer!” is going to be the (incredible) title for this episode — written by executive producer Ildy Modrovich, no less! We immediately think of Beetlejuice when we hear this; whether or not this was an intentional choice is currently up in the air. This title could be a desperate plea for Chloe or someone else as they look for Lucifer; maybe someone finds a way to infiltrate Hell in order to ensure that they can bring the devil back. Or, maybe Chloe and the LAPD catch wind that Lucifer has somehow made it back to Earth.
One of the things that we’re hoping for above all else is that there are some opportunities to explore Lucifer being around some of the other characters again. While this is a storyline that the show could stretch out for a little while longer, this is the final season. With that in mind, you have to take advantage of every opportunity that you can to further this story along.
(Consider this your sad reminder that following this Lucifer season 5 installment, there will only be fourteen more until the series ends and we have to imagine the TV landscape without it … and that of course makes us rather sad.
For now, the Lucifer season 5 premiere is going to be airing at some point in 2020 — it’s going to be hard for it to launch earlier than that, given that production only recently got underway in the City of Angels and beyond.
