Supergirl season 5 teaser: Lena demands answers (video)
If you look below, CarterMatt has the Supergirl season 5 teaser for you — one where Lena wants answers on why she was betrayed. We think a lot of the betrayal has to do with the fact that she and Kara were best friends. If you didn’t know, friends don’t lie to friends about a major part of who they are. It would be one thing if Kara didn’t tell anyone the truth about her alter ego; instead, everyone kept it from Lena. She’s remained in the dark for years while everyone moved forward with the knowledge of who she is.
We think that Lena’s disappointment is one of her driving forces behind her demand for answers. Yet, we do think that it goes a little deeper than that. We see this character as someone who is trying to understand more of her inner darkness. She wants to know if there is a part of her that makes others nervous; she wants to know why she is seen the way that she is seen. Why her? Why keep it from her? Is it just because of her last name, or is there something deeper and more painful going on here? This is a season where that search for answers will prove integral for Lena and we are here for it.
Of course, along the way there is a lot of other stuff going on, as well. This isn’t just a season about lost friendships and the struggle to repair them. Instead, it’s also a season about characters doing what they can in order to contend with new villains and unknown threats — including the mysterious organization Leviathan. They were introduced at the end of season 4 and while there is a comic-book counterpart, there is no guarantee that the show’s going to do anything similar here at all.
