‘American Idol’ notes: Colton Dixon, Adam Lambert, Phillip Phillips

It’s been a slow few days when it comes to the world of “American Idol,” but we are pleased to see that we at least have some pretty interesting headlines to share now in our latest edition of show “notes,” and with that, we are going to start with the latest music video from Colton Dixon.

The song that you can hear below is entitled “You Are,” and it is the first radio single for the season 11 star as a part of his new Christian music deal. If you listen to what is regularly on the radio in this format these days, then you are probably going to be rather familiar with the sound of this song. While the track does not reinvent the wheel in any sense for contemporary Christian music, we do think that it has a good shot to be a major hit on the radio.

“You Are” will be a track on Colton’s upcoming debut, which should launch at some point within the first two months of 2013.

Adam Lambert goodies – We felt it best to give you a couple of stories worth talking about at the moment when it comes to the world of Adam Lambert. First things first, how about a simple reminder that he is going to be on “Pretty Little Liars” Tuesday night, just in case you have not heard about it already? In addition to that, we also have a new video interview with OK! Magazine Australia.

More good news for Phillip – We said during our last Phillip Phillips airplay update that he could end up rising to as high as #3 on the Hot AC chart with “Home,” and he is now closer to that than ever after passing up Train to rise to #4 on the list. There is still a sizable amount of space, though, between him and Pink at #3, so his work is still cut out for him there. As for the top 40 chart, Phillip is holding steady to his #23 spot, but is still gaining spins pretty quickly. (Blame the surge of some powerhouse new singles for his lack of movement.)
