If you missed the flurry of news that came out yesterday, the Breaking Bad movie is coming! The title is El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, and it’s clear that this is going to be a story that is very much all about Jesse Pinkman. What happened to him after taking off in the closing minutes of the series finale?
Well, the video below doesn’t necessarily give you all of the answers on that subject, but it does give you a pretty great scene featuring iconic Breaking Bad character Skinny Pete. In here, he makes it abundantly clear that he wants to do everything that he can in order to protect Jesse. He doesn’t want to hand out any information if at all possible. A part of that is due to the affection that he has for Jesse; another part of that is due to all of the ways that he has suffered already. This is a man who has already found himself stuck, trapped, and at times even forced to cook against his will. This is someone who became a tool in a much larger machine; it all fell apart and now, there isn’t a whole lot else left.

Through this movie, we are hoping that there are some answers and — in a rare move for this franchise — a little bit of hope. Can someone like Jesse find redemption after everything that has happened? We don’t think that this is a world full of happy endings, but we don’t think necessarily that viewers want the same ending for Jesse that the show had for Walt. If they wanted us to think that Jesse was just going to die, wouldn’t they have gone ahead and killed him at the end of the series finale?
El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie will arrive on Netflix on October 11. All signs point to it coming onto AMC, the original network of Breaking Bad, not too long after that.
