‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2 spoilers: Who will take a chance with Emma?

We all know that romance has been a key part of “Once Upon a Time” since the beginning, but ever since the surprising death of Sheriff Graham back in season one (who we still miss dearly), there’s no question that Emma Swan has been more or less left out in the cold. Will that change eventually? It seems like it, but it is still unclear at the moment just who will end up taking his place as the #1 suitor for Jennifer Morrison’s character.

Speaking in a new interview with TV Guide, executive producer Edward Kitsis finally took on a rumor about August that has been discussed in the fan community ever since the character’s first arrival on the show: that somehow, the man otherwise known as Pinocchio could be the person who charms her heart. Is this the truth? At least for the time being, it doesn’t necessarily sound like he is the leading candidate:

“I would say that Emma is definitely going to have some interesting suitors this year, but August has, so far, been such a big brother to her that I’m not sure that those two are meant to be. But it’s a TV show; you never know!”

For those of you desperate for some more August, the good news is that we are going to find out within the next several weeks what happened to him after he seemingly turned back into wood at the end of last season. After all, Eion Bailey has been back up in Vancouver working on the show.

Who do you want to see Emma end up with at the end of the day: August, Dr. Whale, Archie, the mysterious man we saw at the start of this season, or someone we haven’t met yet?
