‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Joseph Morgan on Klaus, Rebekah

Even though Klaus was conspicuously absent on last week’s new episode of “The Vampire Diaries,” there’s no reason to fret: everyone’s favorite villain will be back in his human form again beginning on Thursday night. Of course, there is one question that inevitably comes out of this: why does the head hybrid keep coming back? Elena is now a vampire, and we really don’t know just how much use anyone is going to be to him anymore when it comes to his bizarre goal of building a hybrid army that we have seen play out for the past season and a half.

So what does the actor have to say in particular about why he remains in the small town? Speaking in an interview with TV Guide, Joseph Morgan admits that Caroline (Candice Accola) does play a role in his decision-making, but she is far from the only reason why he is staying put:

“For someone who’s so eager to get out of town, he seems to stick around an awful lot. There is something keeping him in Mystic Falls, and it’s not just Caroline, even though she plays a part in that.”

Morgan also promises that we are still going to see plenty of fallout when it comes to Klaus’ relationship with his sister Rebekah, which is something that started to completely and totally fall apart at the seams during the season premiere, when Claire Holt’s character decided to take away some rather valuable blood from him. Considering that the two are really all that each other has save from Elijah (who has abandoned them both plenty), we do figure they will work something out eventually; however, it may take a little bit of time first.
