As we await the premiere of The Walking Dead season 10 this October, AMC has unveiled a new sneak peek of some of what’s coming — and it puts much of the spotlight on Daryl, Carol, and … Maggie? Well, to a certain extent the latter is true.
If you watch the sneak peek that CarterMatt has for you below, you can get a good sense of what we’re talking about. Daryl and Carol are having a conversation when, in the middle of it, Carol reveals that she’s been receiving letters from Maggie. It doesn’t seem as though she’s getting them with extreme regularity but still, the communication between Maggie and Carol is a clear reminder that she is still a part of this universe.
When Lauren Cohan departed the AMC series in the middle of season 9, it was motivated by her going off to do Whiskey Cavalier — that show developed a devoted audience, but it was not renewed for another season. Because of that, there is a chance that we could end up seeing more of Maggie on The Walking Dead — Cohan has expressed an interest, but it’s not as simple as her just deciding to come on board and then it’s settled. There are financial considerations to be met, and then there is also the desire to come up with the perfect story to feature her.

With Gurira leaving this season, we’d at least like to get Cohan back for a few episodes before that. This show is losing so many longtime characters that it would be nice to see as many of them as possible in one place again. Rick Grimes is also still out there, but he has his own mission in the form of the upcoming movie releases.
