Poldark season 5 episode 4 promo: What’s next for Ross, George, more

Poldark season 5

Poldark season 5 episode 4 will be arriving on BBC One this Sunday, and it’s clear that there is still plenty of emotional chaos coming so buckle up!

Take the state of George’s mind for example. We’ve already seen that he isn’t quite ready to “return to the light,” as the promo below notes. Yet, it’s possible that he has already hit his own personal rock bottom. Attempting to take his own life is a terrible low point, especially since it probably would’ve happened were it not for Dwight Enys stopping it at the last minute.

Yet, by the end of the episode you’re going to have a chance to see George pointing a gun at someone … and it’s not good news for anyone.

As for what else is going on here, Ross is still going to be doing what he can to protect his family — he assumed that when he came back from London to Cornwall that some of the danger wouldn’t follow him. He was wrong. There are going to be spies around every corner and surprising turns that could hit his family where they least expect it. Demelza will be working to continue her schooling project with Morwenna, who is wrestling with a specific sort of emotional weight. In order to escape the clutches of Lady Whitworth, she was forced to give up her son. That’s not going to be easy for her. While she may hate Osbourne, she also loves her son. This is where her heart finds conflict and for someone like Drake, he may not fully understand the position that she’s in.

Speaking of matters of the heart, Geoffrey Charles will be wrestling with some of his own over this episode as he learns that Cecily’s father is setting her up to be married. However, the identity of the potential groom is one that could cause all sorts of additional chaos within the family.

The saddest news of all is this: At the end of the episode, we’ll be at the halfway point of the season. That’s it. Then, there are only four more episodes and then the series is done — possibly for good.
