‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ spoilers: Dylan McDermott returns!

Well, this didn’t take long at all. After it was looking for a long time as though he was going to be one of the original cast members left out of the cold for the second season of “American Horror Story,” there is now some good news coming in for fans of Dylan McDermott: the man will be back, after all.

This news was first confirmed by the show’s executive producer Ryan Murphy, though sadly, we do not have many other further details beyond the fact that he is coming back. The latter portion of the season is currently what is being worked on here, so it is pretty fair to say that you should not expect the actor to be for any period of time longer than just an episode or two.

At this moment, though, we are honestly just thrilled to see him back in any capacity at all. McDermott joins a huge pool of season 1 stars returning in some capacity, whether it be some series regulars this time around in Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Jessica Lange, and Sarah Paulson, or some guest stars that include the likes of Eric Stonestreet. Despite a few issues here and there, the season premiere was actually rather remarkable; and with that in mind, Murphy has given us a reason to be excited about the rest of the season. As for McDermott’s casting, he is really just the icing on top of an already delicious cake (which may or may not have Bloody Face hiding somewhere inside of it).
