After seeing countless photos and video clips over the past few months, we now have the goods that many people have been waiting to see for quite some time: the first real footage of Captain Hook on “Once Upon a Time” within the context of a scene.
So what is going on in the video below? When it comes to the timeline, this looks to be at a time before Rumpelstiltskin was really Rumpelstiltskin, and he was just a relatively feeble man with a wife and son. He boarded this ship in an effort to get his wife back, but unfortunately, the notorious pirate otherwise known as Killian Jones does not really seem to be so willing to do that … at least not before getting involved in a good fight.
Thus far, we have to say that Colin O’Donoghue brings everything that we would expect to this role. In addition to being suave and extremely charming, you also get the sense that he is still an evil man who has managed to indoctrinate his own crew in a way thanks to his own charisma. We’re starting to bet that he may actually be a bigger threat to those in the fairy tale world than even Cora, mostly because he has almost a quality to him that executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz perfected with Benjamin Linus on “Lost”: you really want to believe what Hook is saying since he is so likable, and with that you tend to ignore the fact that he is really juts out for himself.
