When does Lucifer season 5 start filming? Directing news

Lucifer

We know that the writers’ room is already open, but when does Lucifer season 5 start filming in Los Angeles? The good news is that it will be here before you know it!

In a new post on Twitter, show executive producer Ildy Modrovich confirmed that filming on the latest batch of episodes is going to kick off in August at some point. There is not a specific date just yet, but knowing it is in August will be satisfactory enough for a number of people out there. This is around when season 4 kicked off filming, which means that filming on the final season (sigh, we hate writing that) will be done before the end of the year. We’re sure that the writers are planning to deliver as much content as possible through these final episodes — they’ve got a lot of ground to cover! For starters, Lucifer has to find his way back to Los Angeles and from there, figure out his relationship with Chloe. Then, there are of course the other storylines for Maze, Amenadiel, and many other familiar faces.

Now, let’s dive into some directing news — a pair of familiar faces will also be back! Modrovich confirmed that Richard Speight Jr. (who may be best known in front of the camera for his work on Supernatural) will be back to direct an episode after doing this for season 4. Meanwhile, there are also plans for Kevin Alejandro to helm another installment after doing so previously with “Once Upon a Time,” one of the “bonus” episodes that was originally planned to air for season 4 when the show was over on Fox.

Lucifer season 5 will not premiere until 2020; we’re going ahead and expecting the launch to be about at the same time of the year. We feel like the story’s in the best hands possible, as Henderson and Modrovich are going to do everything in their power to ensure that the final end result is fantastic. We know the idea of the series ending is sad, but it will at least be a worthy conclusion to this story.
