Ink Master season 12 episode 6 video: Sausage, Duffy Fortner return!!
The coaches coming back this time around are people who longtime fans are very familiar with — Duffy Fortner and Sausage. They’re two of the best artists who haven’t won the competition and through that, they’ve still got a fire to do better and better in the Ink Master world. The challenge that they’re running into in this episode is the simple fact that neither one of them are going to tattoo. It’s about getting to that finale where they have a chance to earn some cash … but they gotta get there first and they’re reliant on their team in order to do that.
With this in mind, CarterMatt has a sneak peek below from Tuesday night’s new episode. One of the things that is immediately clear is that this is one of the toughest flash challenges this season! It’s one thing to create art using paint or some other familiar material to artists; it’s another altogether to have to engrave stuff onto a suit of armor to show consistency. It’s a fun challenge in terms of showing off creativity with an unusual medium, but it’s hard to grapple with given that this is not something that really any of the artists have familiarity with at all. They’re going to have to figure it out on the fly in order to hammer in the engraving, while still also creating a good design. Also as nerds ourselves there’s something very satisfying watching a challenge that mixes something very cool like tattooing with something very nerdy like a suit of armor.
As for which team is better, the men and the women each have some stuff going on for them! With the men, they have the more consistent design of the two — the engraving is really punched-in and you can see exactly what they were doing throughout. The women, meanwhile, have the cooler design of the two — but also more inconsistent with some difficult spots in it throughout.
